Mid-Lent: Church trivia

A Fun Fact . . .

In England, today, the fourth Sunday of Lent, is called "Mothering Sunday". In the Middle Ages, it was the time where people went to the largest church in their parish, "the mother church" to worship. Over time, it became a Sunday in which it was customary to travel to the church that your mother attended, not it has become England's equivalent of "Mother's Day" with all of the cards, dinners-out, etc associated with such holidays.
